Panorama are gift of digital photography. Hardware tools abound, and software makes easy stitching possible, even with hand-held images. I’ve successfully made panos, or example, from images created hand-held from a drifting kayak. If close foreground is in the image, though, exacting technique is required. For backpacking, I like my home-made wood tool; 4 extra ounces in the pack is all I need to make vertical single-row, close-foreground images that combine to create huge, detailed, panorama files.
